<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain satisfactory fixing quality by a method in which fixing quality degradation resulting from a drop in the temperature of a fixing member right after the passage of paper is prevented without an increase in the power of the fixing member under conditions in which the warm-up time of an image forming apparatus is shortened by decreasing the wall of the fixing member composing a fixing device, in an image forming apparatus having the fixing device which melts and fixes an unfixed toner image to a sheetlike medium in a nip part between the fixing member which has a heat source and a pressure member which does not have a heat source. <P>SOLUTION: Without altering the number of sheetlike mediums to be outputted in a predetermined time, the sheetlike mediums are outputted from the fixing device by changing conveyance intervals 200 between the mediums. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
