<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a linear motion member from excessively returning by using a thrust detection means. <P>SOLUTION: In this electric disc brake, rotation of a motor is converted into linear motion of the linear motion member 23 through a ball ramp mechanism, a pressing member 24 is driven by the linear motion member 23 to press a brake pad onto a disc rotor, and braking force is generated. A thrust detection sensor 27 and a thrust applying means 28 are interposed between the linear motion member 23 and the pressing member 24. The thrust applying means 28 is constructed so that a pressurizing body 66 integrated with the pressing member 24 is brought into contact with a head 27a of the thrust detection sensor 27 by means of a spring 68, and preliminary thrust is constantly generated with the pressing member 24. After releasing braking, when the linear motion member 23 returns more than necessary, the pressing member 24 is brought into contact with a disc 42 of the ball ramp mechanism, the pressurizing body 66 is separated from the sensor head 27a, and the rotation of the motor is stopped with output lowering of the thrust detection sensor 27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
