<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system, a control method thereof and a photo-direct printer apparatus in which image data from an image providing device of each company are received and printed by instructing transfer and print of image data without depending on an interface in consideration of conventional examples. <P>SOLUTION: In the printing system in which a digital camera (DSC) and the PD printer apparatus are directly connected via a USB, and the image data are transmitted from the DSC to the PD printer apparatus and printed, after communication procedures are established by an application (NCDP) installed in the PD printer apparatus and the DSC, Capability of the PD printer apparatus is transmitted from the PD printer apparatus to the DSC.
