PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide on-demand preparation of a nacreous image by using an electrophotographic system in place of printing. SOLUTION: The image is formed by the electrophotographic system using toners containing pearl pigments and the developer. The pearl pigments are not particularly restricted, insofar as such pearl pigments realize the sufficient pearl gloss of the image without impairing the fixability, releasability, etc., of the toners, for which pearl pigments, for example, natural pearl pigments obtainable from fish scales etc., natural mica, such as muscovite, phlogopite and sericite, synthetic pearl pigments, such as guanine, basic lead carbonate, acidic lead arsenite, bismuth oxychloride; synthetic mica, such as the synthetic mica formed by spirally stacking fluorine phlogopite, silicontetrafluoride mica, fluorine taeniolite, layers formed by orienting liquid crystal siloxane molecules, and synthetic mica formed by subjecting aluminum to ceramic coating, and mica coated with metal oxide, such as mica coated with titanium oxide, mica coated with iron oxide, and mica coated with titanium oxide and iron oxide, etc., are used.
