摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine optimal power by power calibration processing of high accuracy only by using minimum areas without using a plurality of PCAs (power calibration areas). SOLUTION: A coarse adjusting calibration control circuit 22 determines the approximate recording power by coarsely changing the recording power. A fine adjusting calibration control circuit 23 determines the optimal power by further finely changing the recording power by using the recording power determined by the coarse adjusting calibration processing. Aβverification control circuit 24 verifies whether the optimal power determined by the fine adjusting calibration processing is optimal or not. The change in the recording power in each of the processing and theβdetection are performed by an encoded EFM ( eight to fourteen modulation ) count control circuit 20 and decoded EFM count control circuit 15 using the EFM frames obtained by dividing one frame by 98 as a smallest unit.
