PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC power supply device which exclusively switches two different power supply circuits and operates them in accordance with consumption current of a load with a simple circuit structure. SOLUTION: The first power supply circuit 2 whose efficiency is high when power is supplied to a light load with small consumption current and the second power supply circuit 3 whose efficiency is high when power is supplied to a heavy load with large consumption current and whose efficiency drops when power is supplied to the light load are connected in parallel between an input terminal IN and an output terminal OUT. The fist power supply circuit 2 detects output voltage of the second power supply circuit 3 and controls whether voltage is to be outputted to the output terminal OUT or not. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
