PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust heat absorption refrigerator at a low running cost and initial cost for cooling by obtaining refrigerant for refrigeration, to greatly improve an operation rate. SOLUTION: This single effect absorption refrigerator is operated by using engine cooling water from an engine 1 as a heat source. Steam of an ammonia-water solution is generated by exhaust gas from the engine 1. A steam turbine 21, and a compressor 24 interlocked and connected to the steam turbine, are driven by the steam. The steam in an evaporator 14 is sucked by the compressor 24, and a pressure in the evaporator 14 is reduced lower than a pressure in an absorber 12 to obtain cold heat. A steam turbine 31 for power generation interlocked and connected to a power generator 32 is provided. When cooling is not conducted, the steam of the ammonia-water solution from a branch pipe 19 is supplied to the steam turbine 31 for power generation to generate power. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
