MECHANO-LUMINESCENT MATERIAL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechano-luminescent material having higher luminous intensity by using a matrix material different from those used for previous mechano-luminescent materials to thereby widen the fields of application thereof. SOLUTION: The mechano-luminescent material is obtained by using a matrix material comprising a composite metal oxide containing strontium and aluminum, represented by the general formula: SrM1Al6O11(wherein M1is an alkaline earth metal) or SrM2Al3O7(wherein M2is a rare earth metal), and a carrier containing as a luminescent center at least one metal selected from rare earth metals or transition metals capable of emitting light when the carrier excited by a mechanical energy returns to its ground state.
