PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting mechanism for a handle of an umbrella which is inexpensive and easy to separate when it is scrapped by simply mounting and removing the shank and the handle of the umbrella by simple constitution. SOLUTION: A hole 11 with a bottom is formed at the upper end of the handle body 10 of the umbrella 1, a cylindrical body 12 is fitted so as to make a gap S at the bottom of this hole 11, and an elastic body 13 is arranged in the gap S. Longitudinal grooves 16, 16 are penetrated through the inner peripheral part of the cylindrical body 12, and recessed grooves 17, 17 are formed at the lower edge of the cylindrical body 12. Then, protrusions 14, 14 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the lower end part of the shaft 2 of the umbrella are penetrated through the longitudinal grooves 16, 16 of the cylindrical body 12. When the shaft 2 is rotated in the cylindrical body 12, the protrusions 14, 14 are engaged with the grooves 17, 17 to connect the shaft 2 with the handle body 10.
