PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time for setting/adjusting the window width/window level (WW/WL) of each obtained image and to optimize adjustment of WW/WL of each image by detailed setting. SOLUTION: In the subject method for batch setup of the WW/WL of the picture sets, in the case of screen display, WW and WL are set to the object images of a plurality of slices obtained by an MRI system. When the WW and WL of the object images IM1 to IM8 are set, this method selects three images IM2, IM5 and IM7 and sets the WW and WL of the three images. Then, the method obtains the quadratic equation of WW and WL defined by prescribed constants A<SB>L</SB>, B<SB>L</SB>, C<SB>L</SB>, A<SB>W</SB>, B<SB>W</SB>and C<SB>W</SB>with a slice position P as a variable from the WW and WL set values and decides the WW and WL of the remaining images in the object images IM1 to IM8 in a batch on the basis of this quadratic equation.
