The wedge system for the installing of windows comprises one wedge which is moved on a relatively parallel second wedge to bridge a gap of 20mm to 50mm as the case may be. The two surfaces upon which the wedges are moved have a rough top face. The second wedge has lateral guide for the first wedge which projects about 5mm over the wedge bevel. The second wedge on the base surface has a clamping device for locking.
