The force application device for a friction clutch, and especially a diaphragm spring, has a number of sections (18) extending radially outwards, whereby adjacent force loading sections are interconnected by connecting sections (20) and have radially inner (24) as well as radially outer (22) segments which extend through the connecting sections radially inwards or radially outwards respectively. All the connecting sections lie in the same radial region. An Independent claim is included for a friction clutch equipped with a force application device.
