METHOD FOR BLOCKING SPAM SHORT MESSAGE BY CONTROL SHORT MESSAGE

PURPOSE: A method for blocking a spam short message by a control short message is provided to effectively block the spam short message through a mutual operation between an SMSC(Short Message Service Center) and a mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: An SMSC generates a control short message including an SMS spam command and a spam keyword. The SMSC selects a mobile communication terminal among a plurality of mobile communication terminals for transmitting the control short message. The SMSC transmits the control short message to the selected mobile communication terminal. The mobile communication terminal receives the control short message transmitted from the SMSC through a mobile communication network(402). The mobile communication terminal extracts the SMS spam command and the spam keyword from the received control short message(408). The mobile communication terminal registers or deletes the spam keyword in a spam keyword table of the mobile communication terminal according to the SMS spam command(410-440). The mobile communication terminal checks whether a newly received short message is a spam short message with reference to the spam keyword table(430,432). If the new short message is the spam short message, the mobile communication terminal blocks the new short message(436,450).
