PURPOSE: A method for processing the billing of a short message in a mobile communication terminal is provided so that a sender shares a charge with respect to the short message, transmitted and received between the sender and the recipient, with the recipient by dividing a billing object into transmission/reception side terminals and transmitting the short message to the reception side terminal. CONSTITUTION: A transmission side terminal(100) capable of short message billing setup transmits a short message in which a message characteristic is set up by the selection of a user(S1-S3). An SMSC(Short Message Service Center)(400) receives the transmitted short message, detects header information, and discriminates the message characteristic(S4-S10). The SMSC(400) sets a billing object with respect to the short message according to the discriminated result, and transmits the short message to a reception side terminal(200)(S12). |
