The high altitude breathing gas supply comprises a breathing mask having an oro-nasal face cover (14) which covers the mouth and nose and a facial respirator (2). The face cover is connected to an oxygen flow regulator (16) supplying gas to the face cover from an oxygen distributor. Switching means enable cutting the oxygen supply to the facial respirator and releasing the oxygen to the regulator when the breathing mask is worn.
