The heat exchanger (3) consists of a water pipe with a side inlet (5) and outlet (1) at its ends, concentrically surrounding a straight pipe carrying water. Water heated by the oil or gas burner enters the side inlet to the outer pipe and loses heat to water moving in counterflow in the inner pipe, via the contact area (6) between the two pipes. The warm water then passes through the outlet to the heat exchanger for warming a room. Cold water leaving the room heat exchanger flows into the inlet (2) of the center pipe and is heated before passing from the exit end (4) to the inlet of the heater with the gas burner.
|
