METHOD FOR PURIFYING HYALURONIC ACID AND SALTS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for purifying hyaluronic acid and salts thereof is provided, thereby effectively removing pyrogenic materials, proteins, nucleic acids and metallic impurities, and minimizing the precipitation frequency by an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION: A method for purifying hyaluronic acid and salts thereof comprises the steps of: (a) removing cells from a hyaluronic acid-producing microorganism cultured medium; (b) adding active carbon into the cell removed medium and removing the active carbon; (c) adding aromatic absorbing resin into the hyaluronic acid solution to remove impurities and removing the resin; and (d) adding an organic solvent into the hyaluronic acid solution to precipitate hyaluronic acid or salts thereof, wherein the aromatic absorbing resin is selected from HP10, HP20, HP21, HP30, SP800, SP825, SP850, SP875, SP205, SP206 and SP207; and the hyaluronic acid producing microorganism is Streptococcus sp.
