HYALURONIC ACID-PRODUCING MICROORGANISM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYALURONIC ACID USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A hyaluronic acid-producing microorganism and a method for producing hyaluronic acid using the same are provided. The microorganism has no hyalurodinase and is nonhemolytic. Therefore, it produces hyaluronic acid in higher yield. CONSTITUTION: A hyaluronic acid-producing microorganism Streptococcus sp. KL0188 (KCTC 10248BP) is provided, wherein Streptococcus sp. KL0188 (KCTC 10248BP) is produced by inducing the mutation of Streptococcus zooepidemicus (KCTC 3318) by treating with NTG(N-methyl-N'-nitrosoguanidine). A method for producing hyaluronic acid comprises culturing Streptococcus sp. KL0188 (KCTC 10248BP) and isolating hyaluronic acid from the cultured medium.
