An anhydrous pesticidal composition comprises a phosphoric acid ester or a thiophosphoric acid ester, together with a solvent and/or emulsifier, stabilized with an aliphatic carboxylic anhydride derived from carboxylic acids with 2, 3 or 4 carbon atoms and including mixtures of these and mixed anhydrides. The acid anhydride, which is preferably acetic acid anhydride, may be present in an amount from 1 to 20% based on the weight of the ester. Esters specified are 0, 0-dimethyl -S-1, 2-di-(ethoxycarbonyl)-ethyl-dithiophosphate, 0, 0-dimethyl -S-(N-methyl-carbamoyl)-methyl-dithiophosphate and N-methyl-N-formyl amide of 0, 0-dimethyl-dithiophosphoryl acetic acid. Examples of solvents used are hydrocarbons or mixtures thereof, while examples of emulsifiers are polyglycol derivatives.
