PURPOSE: A catalyst supply apparatus for a washing machine is provided to regulate the supply amount of catalyst accurately by turning a rotating member with a synchronous motor, and to prevent damage of the catalyst by restricting steam from being moved into the chamber. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst supply device for a washing machine is composed of a chamber(10) having an inclined surface in the lower part, an opening part(3) formed in the lower part of the inclined surface for discharging a catalyst, and a cover(5) combined with the upper part for opening and closing; a conical rotating member(20) rotated and combined with the opening part of the chamber, and composed of radial recesses(11) for inserting the catalyst; and a synchronous motor(30) combined with the lower part of the chamber to rotate the rotating member intermittently according to power from the control unit. The supply amount of the catalyst is regulated accurately by supplying the catalyst in proportion to rpm of the synchronous motor, and deterioration of the catalyst is prevented by restricting inflow of steam.
