PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to simplify constitution of an apparatus for opening and closing an inlet, and to allow the inlet to be stably and easily opened and closed. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(20) for opening and closing an inlet(13) includes a middle panel(21) installed on a center of the inlet to move back and forth; a first opening and closing member(22) and a second opening and closing member(23) coupled to both sides of the middle panel, respectively, to open and close the inlet on both of the sides of the middle panel; a guiding unit placed on upper ends and lower ends of the first opening and closing member and the second opening and closing member and an upper end and a lower end of the inlet corresponding with the upper ends and the lower ends of the first opening and closing member and the second opening and closing member to allow the first opening and closing member and the second opening and closing member to be pulled and folded or pushed and unfolded as the middle panel is moved back and forth; and a driving unit moving the middle panel back and forth.
