PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing spinel type lithium manganate of which the cell characteristic is upgraded such as high temperature conservation and high temperature cycle characteristic, etc., at high temperature, controlling the amount of dissolution of manganese at charge when considering as a positive electrode material for the secondary cell of a nonaqueous electrolyte and also to provide the positive electrode material made of the lithium manganate, and the secondary cell of the nonaqueous electrolyte using the positive electrode material which consists of spinel type lithium manganate. SOLUTION: The electrolytic manganese dioxide containing magnesium of more than 150 ppm and/or manganese carbonate, raw material of lithium and the compound containing at least one or more kinds of elements of magnesium, aluminum, nickel, cobalt, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, calcium, silicon, phosphorus, titanium, chromium, sodium, potassium, vanadium and boron are mixed so that manganese of 0.05 to 12.5 mol% is the compound is replaced with the above element(s) and then manufacturing spinel type lithium manganate by calcinations. |
