A gas burner, particularly for use in apparatus heating by infra-red radiation, has a feed pipe 1 along which a combustible mixture of air and gas passes from a mixing tube 3 to the closed end of which pipe 1 is secured a cup-shaped member 8 carrying a radially slotted washer 10 and a sleeve 9 in the form of a pressed metal grid. The combustible mixture passes from pipe 1 via perforations 6 into member 8 and through the slotted washer 10 to flow out through the perforations of sleeve 9 and form a flame on the outer wall thereof, the wall of pipe 1 being heated and thus the combustible mixture pre-heated. |
