PURPOSE: A driving device for an ink jet printer is provided to easily drive a carrier and a paper feeding roller by using one motor and to reduce manufacturing cost by reducing the number of parts. CONSTITUTION: A driving device drives a carrier and a paper feeding roller(160). The driving device includes a driving motor(122) fixed to a chassis of a printer, a carrier conveying section(150) connected to the driving motor(122) in order to move the carrier in left and right directions, and a feeding roller driving section(170) connected to the carrier conveying section(150) in such a manner that the feeding roller driving section(170) is operated by the carrier when the driving motor(122) drives in a clockwise direction. A pickup roller driving section(180) is connected to the carrier conveying section(150) in such a manner that the pickup roller driving section(180) is operated by the carrier when the driving motor(122) drives in a counterclockwise direction.
