摘要 PURPOSE: An OCB(Optical Compensated Bend) mode liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided to improve contrast ratio. CONSTITUTION: The OCB liquid crystal display includes the first insulation substrate, and a gate line formed on the first insulation substrate, and a data line(171) defining a pixel area by being isolated from the gate line. A pixel electrode is formed at every pixel area. A thin film transistor is connected to the gate line and the data line and the pixel electrode. The second insulation substrate faces the first insulation substrate. A reference electrode is formed on the second insulation substrate. A liquid crystal layer(3) is injected between the first and the second insulation substrate and is aligned in an OCB mode. The first and the second compensation film(13,23) are arranged out of the first and the second insulation substrate. The first and the second polarization film(12,22) are arranged out of the first and the second compensation film.
