PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing an optimum path to a vehicle are provided to supply an optimum path to the vehicle by downloading the roundabout way information. CONSTITUTION: A system for providing an optimum path to a vehicle includes a GPS satellite(20), a navigation system(12), a service server(40), and a traffic information server(60). The GPS satellite(20) transmits a navigation message signal to the navigation system(12). The navigation system installed at a vehicle calculates a present position and a destination, and it transmits the present position and the destination to the service server(40), and provides the map information. The service server is used for generating an optimum path by using the present position and the destination, and it provides the generated optimum path to the navigation system(12). The traffic information server(60) is connected to the service server through internet(50) in order to provide the traffic information.
