A stabilized zirconia electrolyte for a fuel cell incorporates from 0.75 to 10% (mol) of alumina to reduce its melting point and thus make it easier to work. Oxides of calcium, ytterbium, scandium, lutecium and mixed rare earths are used to stabilize the zirconia. |
