FIELD: organic synthesis catalysts. SUBSTANCE: catalyst used in production of aromatic hydrocarbons contains one or more halogen components with uniform quantitative distribution of halogen. Preparation of catalyst involves deposition of one or more halogen components on L-type zeolite followed by drying at the water vaporization rate 15 wt %/h or less. According to invention, catalyst can be prepared in such a way as to homogenously distribute halogen in order to reduce cracking power of catalyst.
