FIELD: construction engineering; repair of underwater pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes freeing the pipe line from soil, forming pit under pipe for placing the chamber, submerging and placing lower portion of chamber under damaged area, connecting lower portion of chamber with pipe and locking it. Then, upper portion of chamber is submerged and is hermetically connected with lower portion, buoyancy of chamber is suppressed and water is pumped out of it. Soil is additionally removed for laying hinged platforms secured on side surfaces of lower portion of detachable chamber; buoyancy is killed by pouring soil on hinged platforms. Stability of chamber in water flow is achieved by means of braces with anchors and by means of longitudinal beams frozen in ice layer in winter; beams may be also secured to chamber.
