FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves forming pipe blank and welding it for obtaining of tubular product; providing hot plastic deformation of welded joint and deforming seam metal to the level of basic pipe metal; providing thermal processing of total pipe. Hot plastic deformation of welded joint is performed with the use of welding bath heat during procedure of cooling crystallized seam metal in temperature range of Ar3+30°C-Ar1+30°C. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation of electrically welded spiral seam pipes and improved quality of applying insulating coating on pipe surface. 1 tbl
