FIELD: rope catching operations. SUBSTANCE: rope catching device has body with rope adapter and central passage, catching assembly and pivotally interconnected hooks. Catching assembly is produced in shape of blunted cone of large lower part diameter and is used in cooperation with double-shouldered hooked catching arms. In the upper part of blunted cone hooked arms are formed in shape of cylindrical heads. Catching part of double-shouldered arm is made curved in direction towards catching device axis and sharpened at the end section in shape of screw die teeth. Double-shouldered hooked catching arms are pivotally mounted inside the body in the guides of bushing fixed in the body. Blunted cone on the side of its least diameter is fixed to the tightening weight placed in the upper part of the central passage with limited capability of axial movement in vertical direction. Catching assembly is additionally provided with double-shouldered pushing arms with upper parts identical to the upper parts of double-shouldered hooked catching arms. Lower parts of pushing arms are made shortened and without teeth, with limited capability of rotation one against other in direction towards catching device axis.
