PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and compact optical system for electronic imaging, such as a video lens and a lens for DSC. SOLUTION: This optical system has an optical low-pass filter which a plurality of area-divided areas nearby the pupil of an imaging optical system which picks up an image by an imaging element having pixels at a specified pitch and obtains low-pass effect by phase differences between the areas, and the F number of the imaging optical system is so set that a conditional expression of 0.2P<λ<0.6P is satisfied, where P is the pixel pitch of the imaging element andλis the main wavelength in imaging.
