<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper transport control method for an electrophotographic printer for obtaining stable print quality. <P>SOLUTION: The paper transport control device for the electrophotographic printer has: reference pulse signals 15 successively outputted as the reference of a feeding position of a paper feed motor 10 which drives transport rollers 8 and 9; encoder pulse signals 16 successively outputted according to the amount of feed of the paper feed motor 10; a counter 17 which compares the number of pulses of the reference pulse signal 15 and the number of pulses of the encoder pulse signal 15, thereby calculating the magnitude 19 of positional deviation of the feeing position of the paper feed motor 10; and a means which detects an abnormality in the feeding position of the paper feed motor 10 as an error signal 27 when the result of the calculation of the magnitude 19 that the feeding position of the paper feed motor 10 is displaced exceeds a permissible value 20. The control device further has a means which has displacement permissible values 20a, 20b, transmits them to a selection circuit 29 and switches one permissible value to the other in response to a switching signal 28 which can be switched with arbitrary timing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
