<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file managing device for reducing the RAM capacity of a work area necessary for a file managing operation, and for executing file management based on information stored in a file. <P>SOLUTION: This system is provided with a storage means for storing a recording medium identification information table configured of the enumeration of an entry constituted of the ID and nickname of a recording medium on which a file is stored, a directory management table configured of the enumeration of an entry constituted of a directory name in the recording medium to be referred to by pertinent application software, and a file management table configured of the enumeration of an entry constituted of information to summarize the file contents, information to specify the recording medium in which the file is stored, information to specify the directory in which the file is stored in the recording medium and the actual file name on the recoding medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
