<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for bending lamps and a control method eliminating the abrupt change of a light distribution pattern by turning off the bending lamps when shifting from curve traveling to straight traveling. <P>SOLUTION: The bending lamps (BL) 11 attached turnably in right and left directions of a vehicle separately from a main headlamp of the vehicle is turned in accordance with a steering (S) angle to control lighting in this controller 12. The controller 12 is constituted in such a way that, when a turn angle is increased in accordance with S steering and the turn angle exceeds a first turn angleθ1 by which at least a part of a light distribution pattern L1 of the BL at the time is deviated from a light distribution pattern L2 of the main headlamp, the BL 11 are lit and, when the turn angle is reduced by S steering back from a state that it exceeds the first turn angle, the BL 11 are turned off when they become below a second turn angleθ2 smaller than the first turn angle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
