PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and effective method for setting neps and filaments in carpet gray fabric. SOLUTION: The method allows flatly coating a melt comprising (a) 50-100mass.% of substantially amorphous poly-α-olefin, (b) 0-5mass.% of a crystalline polyolefin, (c) 0-40mass.% of a resin, (d) 0-35mass.% of a filler or pigment, (e) 0-10mass.% of a flame retardant (excluding magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide) and (f) 0-15mass.% of a wax and exhibiting 200-20,000mPa of melt viscosity at 190°C, on the back of the carpet gray fabric in an amount of 20-1,500g/m<SP>2</SP>.
