METHOD FOR DECOMPOSING HARDLY DECOMPOSABLE SUBSTANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decomposition method for a hardly decomposable substance capable of achieving the reduction of a consumption of a chemical agent, the shortening of a reaction time, the lowering of a reaction temperature and the prevention of an apparatus from corrosion and capable of using an inexpensive apparatus. SOLUTION: When the hardly decomposable substance is oxidatively decomposed in water with a persulfate, it is subjected to oxidative decomposition treatment in the presence of a basic substance while holding pH to 3 or more.
