PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection welding method that enables welding strength to be further improved, that reduces variance in welding strength, and that makes high quality welding possible. SOLUTION: A first steel-based workpiece 1 and a second steel-based workpiece 2 having a large number of projections 3 are prepared. At least either of the first workpiece 1 or the second workpiece 2 is pressurized in a manner that the projections 3 of the second workpiece 2 are pressed against the planar part of the first workpiece 1. While the pressurizing operation is performed, a first energizing operation to perform energization between the workpieces 1 and 2 is carried out under the conditions of a welding current I1 and an energizing time T1. After that, a second energizing operation to perform energization between the workpieces 1 and 2 is carried out under the conditions of a welding current I2 and an energizing time T2. The welding current I1 and the energizing time T1 of the first energizing operation are set less than those I2 and T2 of the second energizing operation respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
