PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for a participant to feel noise close to actual noise in a downstair floor, assumed under the floor, according to floor specificications or to floor specifications and the kind of noise source. SOLUTION: When a participant 15 jumps or runs in an experience room 10, the vibration of a floor 14 is detected by a vibration pickup 20 and a sound in the room 10 is collected by a microphone 22. A noise source type decision means 36 decides the kind of noise source on the basis of an output signal of the vibration pickup 20. A filter characteristic reading means 50 reads an appropriate filter characteristic from a filter characteristic storage means 46 according to the decided kind of noise source and the indicated floor specifications and the filter characteristic is set in a filter 44. The outputs of the vibration pickup 20 and the microphone 22 are summed and supplied to the filter 44, where the corresponding floor transmission noise signal is generated. The generated noise signal is reproduced from a speaker 24 in the experience room 10 after a delay of a predetermined time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
