PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a burnout of a heating means, to secure dryness of steam, and to lower the height of a steam generator. SOLUTION: The steam generator 1 for generating steam using the heating means 3 by electricity is characterized in having a cylindrical can body 2 for generating steam positioned to be substantially vertical and in having a housing part 4 housing the heating means 3 connectedly provided in the lower part of the vertical can body 2 to be substantially horizontal.
