PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unlocking code variable type cylinder lock which is improved in operational reliability. SOLUTION: The unlocking code variable type cylinder lock has a rotor 7 which is rotatably inserted into a case 1, and has a rotor-side tumbler 2 and a code changing body 3 mounted therein in a laminated state. The rotor 7 has a housing recess 4 formed therein, which is openable to a rotation boundary between the rotor and the case 1, for housing the code changing body 3, and when one of edges of the code changing body 3 is located on the rotation boundary surface between the rotor and the case 1 by an unlocking code forming recess 6 formed in an unlocking key 5, the rotor 7 is in an unlocking state that allows relative rotation thereof with respect to the case 1. Thus an unlocking condition is limited only to the unlocking code forming recess 6 which allows the code changing body 3 to be housed in the housing recess 4, to thereby locate an edge of the rotor-side tumbler 2 on the rotating boundary surface. According to the cylinder lock, a bottom wall of the housing recess 4 is formed of a fall preventive pin 9 which has one end thereof protruded into a key insertion slot 8 formed in the rotor 7 to be operated for ascending/discending by the unlocking key 5.
