PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder and an inkjet recording method in which heat corresponding to a quantity of ink impart to a recording medium can be applied. SOLUTION: In the inkjet recorder, recording is performed on an recording medium 2 coated with thermally fusible surface sealant and then the recording medium is held between two opposing rubber rollers 4 and 5 and pressed thus fusing the surface sealant. The quantity of ink shot into the recording medium is detected by a quantity-of-ink detecting circuit 13. Depending on the quantity of ink shot into the recording medium, surface temperature of two rubber rollers 4 and 5 is regulated by a temperature control circuit 16. When a large quantity of ink was shot into the recording medium, the surface temperature is elevated so that the surface sealant of the recording medium 2 is fused sufficiently.
