PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extinguishing system which spatters liquid for extinguishing fire to long distance without damaging to a building or the like in extinguishing fire. SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for generating mist has a liquid chamber 2, a gaseous chamber 3, a mist chamber 4, an acceleration chamber 5 and a flow rate regulation valve 6. A plurality of micro pores 7 are formed in a partition between the liquid chamber 2 and the mist chamber 4, and a plurality of micro pores 8 are formed in a partition between the mist chamber 4 and the acceleration chamber 5. Furthermore, a narrow gap 9 is formed between the gaseous chamber 3 and the acceleration chamber 5. Here, the relationship between the velocity vector, Vliquid of liquid droplets introduced into the mist chamber 4 and the velocity vector Vgus of air current is Vgus≥Vliquid. Inside the mist chamber 4, air current strongly collides with the liquid droplets, and the liquid droplets are divided into minute water particles, then mist is generated.
