PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cook rice tasty by purifying and softening cooking water by, for example, far infrared radiation of cooking charcoal and making the taste of the rice further mellow, and to prevent the contamination of the rice due to cooking charcoal by separately using it from the rice. SOLUTION: This cooking charcoal supporting device is provided with a cooking charcoal storage body 1 opened with multiple circulation holes 2 and storing the cooking charcoal C, and an installation means 10 positioning and disposing the cooking charcoal storage body 1 in the upper part opening of a boiling cooking appliance R. The installation means 10 is screwed in a recess part 12, which is positioned in the upper part opening of the boiling cooking appliance R and formed in an inner lid member 11 closing the upper part opening, from the lower part of the recess part 12. The screwing is so formed that male thread 13 formed in the outer circumferential surface of the recess part 12 is screwed with a female thread 14 formed in the internal circumferential surface in the circumferential side wall of the cooking charcoal storage body.
