PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for industrially and efficiently producing a shaped product of a glycolic acid copolymer which improves the operational stability in a shaping step. SOLUTION: In shaping the glycolic acid copolymer after being produced by melt polycondenstaion of glycolic acid and/or its derivative and a compound copolymerizable with glycolic acid and/or its derivative as the starting raw materials, the time t (min) necessary from the completion point in time of the melt polycondensation to cooling of the resulting polycondensate meets the relationship of inequality (1) to be represented by the temperature T (°C) of the glycolic acid copolymer and the weight average molecular weight (Mw) of the glycolic acid copolymer.
