PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the height of an arm pad by the vertical movement of an arm support rod alone without providing an operation lever. SOLUTION: A cylindrical height adjusting member 12 formed by inward projecting a pair of stop members 21 is fitted in the upper end part of an armrest support 4. The height adjusting member 12 is provided with the arm support rod 11 attached with the arm 5 in its upper end vertically slidably fitted therein, an elastic support piece 29 facing upward and elastically deformable in the direction of orthogonally crossing with the pair of stop members 21 in the lower end part of the arm support rod 11, and a lock shaft 38 projected so as to elastically engage with the upper surface base parts of the respective lock pieces 21b in its upper end and, when the arm support rod 11 is in the lower limit position, having its both end parts positioned in the lower parts opposed to the end base parts in the slope surfaces of the lower surfaces of the lowermost-stage of the lock pieces 21b. Guide pieces facing in the same direction to the lock pieces 21b are provided in the upper ends of the base pieces 21a in the lock members 21 in such manner as continuing the slope surfaces in the upper surfaces with the other side faces of the base pieces.
