PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a doctor for a gravure printing press aiming at the return of an excess ink to a plate cylinder through an ink well and the settlement of the development of a plate fogging and arrow-marks and a gravure printing method by employing the gravure printing press equipped with the doctor for gravure printing press. SOLUTION: In the doctor for the gravure printing press, a first doctor mechanism (9) comprises a first doctor blade (7) and arms (8) mounted on both the widthwise sides of the first doctor blade so as to provide at least one ink discharging ports (13, 13a or 13b) on the first doctor blade in order to flow down the excess ink scraped off with a second doctor mechanism (12) in an ink pan (5) and a means for adjusting the contact angle and the contact pressure of the first doctor mechanism to and against the plate cylinder to respective arbitrary contact angle and contact pressure under the condition that the first doctor mechanism and the second doctor mechanism are arranged at a position in contact with the plate cylinder (1).
