PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for synthesizing a virtual song are provided to output a virtual song in a synthesized voice by controlling a rhythm of the synthesized voice. CONSTITUTION: A music note processor(10) receives words of a song formed of text data for outputting part of speech information of words included in sentences of the word of the song, and analyzes phonemes between adjacent syllables for outputting pronunciation mark conversion control data and accent/time duration setup control data. An accent/time duration setup unit(12) receives the accent/time duration setup control data for outputting a first rhythm control signal for controlling energy of sound and accent/time duration setup. A music note analyzing unit(20) analyses music data and outputs second rhythm control data including height and pitch of sound, length of sound. A sound source selector(30) selects the corresponding sound source from a sound source database(304). A rhythm control unit(306) controls a rhythm by matching first and second rhythm data with the selected sound source. A sound waveform converter(308) converts the synthesized digital sound source to analog signals.
