摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line lighting device whose light intensity in a main scanning direction is uniform and in which strict precision is not required when the device is incorporated into a contact-type image sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A light scattering pattern 20 for scattering light which is made incident on a photoconductive body 11 is formed on one side 11a in sides 11a and 11b in a longitudinal direction including a short side of the photoconductive body 11 whose cross section is rectangular by screen-printing white paint. The side 11b facing the side 11a is made to be an outgoing face exposed from a case 12 and the whole sides are used as the outgoing faces. Thus, sufficient light quantity can be secured. Remaining sides 11c and 11d of the photoconductive body 11 are sides including the long side. Since shrinks at the time of shaping easily occur on the sides, the light scattering pattern 20 is not formed, nor are they used as the outgoing faces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
