<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output printed matters with a printing setting that conforms to a user's preference by proposing an alternative printing setting, which is smaller in dissimilarity, or a plurality of printing settings to the user, when a printing device of a print shop cannot realize the printing setting which downloaded printing setting information indicates. <P>SOLUTION: In a network printing system, when a print order cannot be realized by means of the output means of the print shop, the dissimilarity from the printing setting the print order indicates is computed on the basis of a dissimilarity table showing the dissimilarity for every item of the printing setting, and a printing setting which is smallest in computed similarity is proposed as the alternative printing setting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
